You HAVE to read The Hunger Games books! AMAZING!!! Cousin Linsey got me hooked on them. The first one is called The Hunger Games, the second is called Catching Fire. The third one doesn't come out til next year. Read them and then let me know what you think!
oooo- I have been reading the Hunger Games books also. Excellent series that would be great to discusss. Jon and I just finished reading Catching Fire and we had a hard time putting it down! I will warn you, they do contain a pretty heavy theme and violence - - but it is handled well. Maybe I wouldn't recommend it to my mom (who is a bit sensitive), but I would to most everyone!
I have a lot of favorite books, depending on the genre you want. Mostly I love reading completely for fun- a lot of youth fiction (such as Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, Artemis Fowl . . .), but I do love to branch out too. Are you on Goodreads? I have most of the books I have read on there . . .
One of my all time favorites is The Alliance by Gerald Lund. Great action/adventure/science fiction that I read as a youth myself. It does have some really great themes, such as free agency and what that means and why it is so important.
Welcome to my very casual, very informal book club. I wanted a chance to share the books I love with others and hear what everyone likes or dislikes about them. Ideally I will post a new book each month. You can read as fast or slow as you like and leave comments about the book if you so desire. I am not as well read as I'd like to be so feel free leave your book suggestions under the post, "Future Book Suggestions." At the bottom of the blog you will find resources for buying books online, but most libraries will have almost anything you need. Also at the bottom of the page are guidelines for leaving your comments. Happy reading!
